So here are a few more drawings from lectures and other free time. Also a colored version of a previous drawing of me with friends. I colored it as it is going to my friend as a farewell gift.

End of the semester, made a few presents for people and did one last painting. Hoping to back a bunch of stuff next week before I go home/do some travelling.

Welcome to impressionism! I'm not a big fan of the quickness of it; the premise is that you spend approximately 10-20 minutes on a painting (plus the time before practicing balance), so yes, they look kind of like kid's paintings. I had to go back to some of the more involved work, since there are still some ideas I have to spill onto paper.

It was pretty neat finishing up the octopus and bridge with blue pine tree painting, because while I was doing that, my teacher was with another 'sumi-e' teacher, showing her her English teaching methods, so i listened in on their conversation. Apparently the inkwell is called うみ(sea) in Japanese.

I also did a collaboration with a guy from ceramics named Matthias. I did some designs on two pieces for him, and he'll do a bowl and mug for me in return. Yay!
